About Me
I have loved kittens since I was a little girl. I remember going to Grandmas farm and spending the entire visit snuggling with her barn kittens. Many of which I ended up taking home. My whole life I have always been owned by at least one cat.
To satisfy my nurturing nature, after finding ourselves empty nesters, I started volunteering for a local cat rescue. I helped them clean the shelter and eventually brought home my first "Foster" kitten. An absolutely adorable dilute calico. She was a foster and only to be with us for 8 weeks until she was old enough to go to her forever home... That was 8 years ago. The shelter called her a "Foster Failure" because we fell head over heals for her and just could not let her leave. I prefer the term "Foster Fit" We spent 5 years dedicated to rescuing and fostering stray Mamas and kittens. All the while attending Pure Bred cat shows as spectators. After falling in love with the Pure Bred Persian Cats I decided showing and breeding was something that I was destined to do. However, after speaking with many Persian breeders and finding out they get up at 4am the morning of a show to bathe and groom their Persians to perfection, I had to choose an easier breed. I like my sleep and would not do well wrestling a cat in a tub at 4am. That's when the Minuets entered my life. They are the best of both worlds. Minuets are the best lap cats we have ever had and they are very easy to groom. The breed standard states that their hair is silky not cottony which is what we strive for. A true silky haired Minuet will not mat and requires little maintenance. A simple daily brush through will keep them looking great. After 5 years of research I purchased my first show/breeding Minuet and Agathos Cattery was born. |
